[TRANS] 150218 Omura Column by Masaki Omura, The News Caster of YOU-GATA TELEVISION who Interviewed TOHOSHINKI

Burst! Talks on Crabs in the mid-winter
This week was unusually warm.. this winter we have rather unstable weather..
The weekend.. we had a terrible weather. Was everyone okay?

In such a weekend, on the Valentine's day, TOHOSHINKI had a live concert at Sapporo Dome.
"SAKURAMICH" being released on 25th will be a new Japanese spring song.

There were many fans coming to the concert but due to the delay of their flights, many of them were being late for the concert… some of them rushed into the venue right before the ending of the encore.. with the look that I do not know how to describe to you ..tearful and desperate.. I could only guess.. some people had exhausted themselves emotionally and physically…?

This picture shows the line of crowds from the Dome to the nearby Fukuzumi subway station in the winter snow storm. Usually, you could get to the station by walk within 10 minutes from the Dome..but on that day, we had to stop so many times and it took us 1 hour to get to the station. It was that hard.
However, inside of the Dome, everyone was enjoying their best.
It was the longest live concert and they (TOHOSHINKI) performed in full gear until the very end.. and their fans gathered to the venue were also in full power.. and their hand props to cheer for them were glittering/shining brightly.. it was an amazing concert where you could feel that you were united/became one.

Speaking of which.. Some people call Omura a Ton-pen ana (TOHOSHINKI fan news caster) …
To be honest.. I did not know what Ton-pen means.. but I think somehow that I am a Ton-pen..
Well, I think that this has all started with Yon-sama (Bae Yongjun) anyhow..

Thanks to everyone.. I was able to greet them.. that became a routine for their Sapporo live concert.
and I was able to do an interview with them for the first time in two years.
(Last year.. I was not able to do an interview with them due to various reasons)

I remembered two years ago Changmin-san talked about "crabs in the midwinter"
Although I live in Hokkaido, I was thinking about what "crabs in the midwinter"are.. what are they!?
I had the question in my mind and also I was really curious about the key word "midwinter"…
Once in a while I ate delicious crabs, I was thinking like "Are these crabs what Changmin-san was talking about?"

Nonetheless they had a concert in Sapporo in the midwinter .. when the weather is so unstable..
Why now!?
Is it because of those crabs!?

Just as I anticipated.. we talked about midwinter crabs enthusiastically from the beginning of the interview.
… well.. I should say that I wanted to say this all because..
the way Changmin-san behaved was different from before when he entered into the interview room

Chanmin-san led Yunho-san into the interview room while smiling happily!!
I was really taken by surprise.
Previously, Yunho-san who is older than Changmin-san always appeared in the interview room first and he would start our conversation by saying, "Hello. Long time no see."
But this time, Changmin-san opened the door and told me, "Long time no see. I am glad to work with you today!" with his big charming eyes shining. This is the reverse of the usual routine.
We enjoyed our conversation… and this was all because that he was high by eating midwinter crabs.
Usually, people became speechless busy eating crabs.. but after finish eating them .. I did not know that one could become so talkative/chatterbox.

By the way, In February, Yunho-san's birthday is on the 6th and the 18th when You-gata live broadcasted this interview is Changmin-san's birthday. Both of them were born in February.
Although the day when I interviewed was the Valentine's day.. I felt awkward to give them chocolates because I am a man, so I brought their birthday gifts.
I also prepared two Kusu-dama (note: it is just like piƱata but when you pull the string at the bottom of the paper ball, the ball supposed to split open and you can see a message on the paper that rolls down).
I guess it was cheapy crap that one of them was already open before pulling the string and the other one, Changmin-san could not split open the ball.. unexpectedly we broadcasted something surreal. However, both of them enjoyed that every much and the temperature of the interview room raised immediately despite the wind and show outside.

As you see on TV, I gave Yunho-san strawberries that are his very favorite things.
These were very rare strawberries from a small farm on the Northern part of Hokkaido. Yunho-san was truly delighted and he even talked about those strawberries at the concert.
I introduced the strawberries to him as "These are Hokkaido's Eri-suguri strawberries! meaning the very special strawberries from Hokkaido" Yunho-san got confused and he thought that was the name of the strawberries. Yunho-san said "Hokkaido's Ellis… something.. Angel strawberries were so delicious" to 40,000 of TOHOSHINKI fans and of course, there was no way that I could correct him…

I gave Changmin-san a plastic model kit of Gandum. It was one of the basic kinds and I thought that Changmin-san might already have it.. but he said, "Oh, this cheers/energizes me up for the live concert!" and it made me very happy.

Oh, I also noticed something during this interview.
The two do not stretch the end of their sentences. (note: some JPN have a habit of extending the end of words by adding De~e~ Ne~~" they add extra vowel sound. this is most likely to reflect that the person feels insecure about what he/she is saying). But they often raise intonations at the end of a sentence. and this makes their talks really cute/charming.

Giving talk is my job but sometimes I am in shock to find myself extending the end of words.. Although I am too old to give a cute talk.. but I thought that I learned the very basic of how to give a pleasant/enjoyable talk from them.

Well I have a lot and lot more to tell you.. but I should say bye to you here...
