*note - there are spoilers in this article.

In the 11th episode of "Journal of Night Watchmen", actor Jung Yunho has, through his "tears acting" filled with genuine emotions, overpowered the controversy over his acting abilities which had previously surrounded himself.

-spoilers omitted-

In the past, Moo Seok's sister was inflicted with smallpox and died while being watched over by Moo Seok. Moo Seok said while his tears spilled over, "It would be great if I had been the one who got inflicted instead. There is nothing I can do for you. Even when our mother and father passed away, there was also nothing which I could do for them".

In this scene, Jung Yunho, who takes on the role of Moo Seok, let loose an explosive outburst of emotions when faced with the death of his sister, and displayed his smooth flowing acting abilities. Through his "tears acting" which captured the attention of viewers and his heart-wrenching gaze, it was sufficient to stimulate the tear glands of the viewers.

In the past, Moo Seok consistently faced everybody and everything around him with a cold and serious attitude, and appeared as a character wearing a veil over him. However, while the past of Moo Seok whereby he had lost his sister in childhood and deeply kept the hurt in his heart was revealed in this day's episode, the sympathy of the viewers built up when faced with Moo Seok, who had naturally fastly closed the doors to his heart and lived a lonely life to this day.

U-Know Yunho, who had made his debut through TVXQ's single album "Hug" in 2004, held active activities as a singer and thereafter appeared in MBC's Wednesday-Thursday drama "Heading to the Ground" in 2009 and last year's SBS Monday-Tuesday drama "Yawang" etc, building up his filmography as an actor. However, compared to the full-time actors, he was caught up in controversy over his relatively weak emotive expressability and excessive gestures.

Prior to this, at the production press conference for "Journal of Night Watchmen" held in Junifer Hall of the 63 Building in Yeongdeungpo, Yeouido, Seoul, on 29 July, regarding the controversy surrounding him as regards his acting abilities, he had revealed his strong ambitions, "It is my first time in a period drama, and having started out as an idol, I had heard a lot of various criticisms. I have said before that I want to become an actor who gradually grows / improves. I think that I should let my genuity-infused acting pick up through this production".

Jung Yunho has stamped on the controversy and he is resolutely attempting challenges in the new field of period dramas through "Journal of Night Watchmen", showing his extraordinary courage. In this regard, he put in his never-ceasing hard work and effort (the Korean phrase literally means "blood-inducing effort", i.e. putting in tremendous effort), and showed everybody his surprising growth, personally proving that he is progressing as an actor. This is the reason why one cannot help but pay attention to the growing phase of Jung Yunho, reborn as an actor from being an idol.
