[TRANS] 140910 "Journal of Night Watchmen" Jung Yunho, Acting Abilities Which Are Growing Together With His Character

-note: this article contains spoilers-

"Journal of Night Watchmen" Jung Yunho's acting growth is interesting.

In the episodes of MBC Monday-Tuesday drama "Journal of Night Watchmen" broadcast this week, the most outstanding thing was the character of Moo Seok (Jung Yunho). Moo Seok's longing for / missing of In Hwa (Kim So Yeon) stimulated emotions even while the story was unravelled in a descriptive explanatory manner.

In the 9th episode of "Journal of Night Watchmen", the reality that Moo Seok's younger sister, In Hwa, had passed away from smallpox was revealed. Ghost In Hwa, who had appeared in coincidence with the juncture when an epidemic was spreading in the capital through the summoning of the "Mama-shin" by Sadam (Kim Sung Oh), and Moo Seok's longing for / missing of In Hwa was intense and ardent.

Behind that, there was Jung Yunho's stable acting. From his debut production on the small screens, "Heading to the Ground" and continuing to his previous production, "Yawang", Jung Yunho has continually been harassed by the controversy over his acting abilities. However, in "Journal of Night Watchmen", despite the fact that it was his first attempt at challenging a period drama, he received attention for showing everybody his stable acting.

Against the backdrop of his excellent acting, one cannot exclude the fact of the strength lent by the character of Moo Seok. The taciturn guard warrior Moo Seok was a character with less difficulty in the handling of his dialogue, and which was able to show off the actor's strengths in his luxurious action scenes. In addition, amongst the characters in "Journal of Night Watchmen", Moo Seok is also a character which has the most possibility (for growth / expansion).

Against the growing-up backdrop of him having lost his parents early in his life and been handed over to the care of his relatives, and being nurtured as a warrior amidst strict education and training, of course other than his fitting personality, his relationships with the people surrounding him also have an organic feel to them. His sense of loyalty towards Gisangun and his heart in treasuring (the Korean word is usually used for family / closed ones) Soo Ryeon were shifted from the complex circumstances of In Hwa's death, and his loveline with Do Ha (Go Sung Hee) undoubtedly possessed more compelling emotions than the emotions of Lee Rin (Jung Il Woo).

Moo Seok's past, which was revealed in episodes 9 and 10, infused the reasons for the existence and actions of the present him. Because of that, for the actor who is acting the role of Moo Seok, and for the viewers who are watching on, Moo Seok's emotions were able to strike their hearts through such relatability.

Of course, it is patently evident that actor Jung Yunho, who has digested Moo Seok's luxurious action scenes and the minute detailed emotive acting even if he is taciturn, is undoubtedly showing everybody his acting abilities which have remarkably improved. In addition, in the scene in Episode 9 where his sadness towards In Hwa reaches breaking point, he also evoked emotions with his stable emotive acting.

Moo Seok is an appealing character who, while having fine handsome looks and a cold and upright personality, harbours painful wounds amidst that. However, what made Moo Seok into a character who is so appealing, is the actor's appearance, facial expressions, and his actions / movements. Jung Yunho is growing together with Moo Seok. At this juncture where Moo Seok has left the side of Park Soo Jong (Lee Jae Yong) and is standing on Lee Rin's side, it makes one more curious as to what sides of him actor Jung Yunho will show.
